WHAT IS CHRISTIANITY

I consider myself as a Christian. I was brought up in a Baptist church and was taught that God died on the cross for our sins and rose from the dead.  Well I wanted to know more about what is Christianity and where did it come from. In the article “ What is Christianity?” written by an unknown author, has given me a better understand of Christianity. The unknown author’s points out that Christianity is a religion based upon the teachings and miracles of Jesus.  Jesus is Christ and Christ means anointed one. The  Christian life is based on the miracles that Jesus performed in the eyewitnesses of the human eyes. The unknown author explains how Christianity teaches that there is only one God, whom created the universe, the earth, Adam and Eve, and man in his image. I have also learned that Christianity teaches that God is a Trinity meaning the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, all one God. According to the unknown author  Christianity teachers that Jesus is the only way to God. There is no other God or religion that proves all the miracles that God has done. Christianity teaches  once a person is saved the Holy Spirit lives in them and that person is changed. After reading this article I have received more knowledge about my religion background.

IS THERE A GOD

Is There a God?
Author Marilyn Adamson explains the reasons why God does exist. In the article “ Is There a God”, M. Adamson expresses the way her life turn from once being a atheists to becoming a strong firm believer in God. M. Adamson explains how people believing in God use to bother her a lot. M. Adamson decided one day she would prove to the people that God did not exist. M. Adamson also wanted to set herself free from the question of God. While going through her task of proving the people wrong she realize the topic of God was weighing heavy on her, and that is was God that was pressing the issue on her mind more and more. M. Adamson came up with some evidence that proves to her that there is a God. For example earth, God himself created earth , which is located the right distance of the sun. Also earth is the only planet with humans and plants. Earth is also properly cooled and warmed for the humans every day. Water that has no color, odor nor taste but us as an universe can’t survive without it. The human body is made up of two-thirds of water. Water also allows chemicals, minerals and nutrients to be carried through the body and the smallest blood vessels. These are just a few examples that M.Adamson states in her article about God existing. If we look around we would see every proof of Gods existing by the way we live, think, and speak. So instead of the author proving to the believers that there was not a God , she end up believing that after there is a God.

I could never come to a understanding on why people committ murder. What gives any human the right to take the life of another human. I think the cause of death should  come from  natural causes or even accidental. We all know accidents do happen, in which we don’t have control over. But then we do have those type of individuals than actually take the time to plan, plot and carry out a murder. What goes through a person minds at the time  of a murder. We all wish we live in a world that was crime  and murder  free . What ever happen to loving one another , instead we are hurting each other. The world went through 911, Virginia-Tech, D.C snippers. These are the type of murders that I would like to know the cause behind. We are slso suffing through the troops lives being taken for no reason at all. My question is when is this going to end.

WHY DO PEOPLE BECOME ATHEISTS?

What makes any person lose their faith in God? Does bad experiences, death of a family member , or a friend make a person question is there really a God?  In the article ” Why  do people become atheists”, written by Adrian Barnett explains some of her personal views and outlooks on why people becomes atheists. According to the author everybody is born an atheists,  and no one person comes into this world believing in anything or anybody. At this point I would have to agree with the author, I do believe that is true. I also would have to agree with the statement that religion beliefs are past down though generations. Now there some members of the family that may stray and serve a different religion  but not all. A. Barnett points out that becoming an atheists is not a decision that is made up by a person from just a bad experience it’s something that’s been with a person all there life.  Well I feel like this there is something or some reason why a person feel the way they do. If one person don’t beleive in God then what do they believe in.  According to author A. Barnett  people only beleive in God just to have a complete and coherent explanations about life. And  believing in God is just like believingthat there is a bigfoot, aliens, and lake monsters. In my defense to that statment, you can not compare God to bigfoot , aliens or lake monsters. It seems to me that the other is looking for way to explain her life. As A. Barnett states in her article she to was brought up in christian background where they never went to church except for wedding and funerals. Her family never said grace before eating their  food. But did believe that there was a heaven and hell, and that all good people goes to heaven and bad people goes to hell. Ok so my point is at one point she did have a religion and was not atheists all her life. I think this author is just trying to come up with a reason for losing her faith.

Is  there a God?, that is the question that is being ask in the article “God vs. Science” written by David Van Biema. Should we live off of faith or science? Professor Dawkins believes God is just a delusion and that there is no such thing as faith, which he can prove.  Dawkins also states”any beliefs in miracles is flat  contradictory not just  to the facts of science but to the spirit of scienece.” With me being a stronger believer in god would have to disagree. Science has proven facts by showing how things work. Just because we can’t touch or feel  God doesn’t mean that he is not real. While on the other hand sometimes scientists can present us with proof and reasoning behind what they do. Dawkins thinks God is not the answer to everything thing, and that every one person are not faced with the same problems in life. Dawkins is trying to prove that there is no God and that we should not put our faith and trust into a person and have our hold life depending on this one person.          While Dawkins is focusing on how to show the world    that there is no such thing as a God, Dr. Collins has a totally different intake in this topic. Collins believes there is a such thing as faith. He also believe that scientist can continue to search for facts that proves that there is not a God. Collins states it’s up to each person whether they have the knowledge of who God is . Also God does exist and  he needs no explanation.          As I stated before , I am a strong believer in God. Once you as a person has been through so much in your life, you would realize it’s not your luck that’s keeping you here and safe. Yes I do agree that I do have faith in a person that I have never came in contact with and I am trusting my life with. But if you think about it ,it’s no different from trusting man with your life, such as doctors, lawyers, etc. all I know is God is real.

I BELIEVE

1.   I believe that people: should not take their anger out on others.2.   I believe that society: needs to work together instead of working against each other.3.   I believe the government : oh boy no comment. I mean it don’t matter people are going to lie their way into the office anyways like Bush…oh did I just say that?4.    I believe justice: will never happen.5.   I believe that knowledge: is power the more you have the further you go.6.   I believe that science: is crazy when they start cloning animals and maybe people. I don’t want another one of me.7.   I believe reality: is a hard thing to live with.8.   I believe life: can kill you if you let it.9.   I believe that happiness: come from within. You have find what makes you happy.10.                I believe goodness: is something : is something from the heart.11.                I believe that death: is something that we all are going to face one day.12.                I believe that god: is my savior. God is my strength, my rock, my doctor,my teacher,my all. Without God ,I would not be here today. I thank God for all he has and is doing for me.13.                  I believe that God: is my savior. God is my strength, my rock, my doctor, my teacher, my all. Without God, I would not be here today. I have had sleepless nights because of the  pain that I have suffer through. I have faced death in a car accident, but it was God whom brought me out with only a  minor headach. I have a long term illness that is going to follow me for the rest of my life, but thanks to God I only have to take on pill for the rest of my life.God has not given up on me even through the times that I have gave up on him. There has been times where I let life get the best of me. I was so hard on myself , and didn’t think I was worth living. At the time that I was trying to take  my own life, God sent a person my way just in time to stop me. I am  weak without God. When  I am feeling down I just close my eyes and begin to pray, knowing that God hears my cry and feels my pain.        I do believe there are people in the world that do not believe in god. Each person has their  right to praise whomever it is that the praise. I can’t force my God on anybody, I can only share how good he has been to me. Everybody has their own trials that they face. But it’s up to that person to seek whomever they seek for help. I can only respect one’s religion. All I know I do believe and trust in god

WHY DO I WRITE……..

I write to release stress. I feel if I write my problems and issues down on paper I would feel much better. Writing is not one of my favorite things that I like to, but I do have alot  of things to get off my chest. When I had an idea, I have to get it down on paper so I won’t forget the things I have to say. So writing is not only a way for me to release my stress but it is also a way to remember things. Writing for me also  keeps me organized. No matter what we do writing is always going to be a part of life.

In this day and age our children are doing more than what we did when we was young.  I am a single parent and although my son is just seven, I would like to know what he do and don’t know about the world today. There are things that are being brought to our kids attention by other peers . They have children as young as eight years of age that’s being jumped into gangs now. Although I used to hate that fact that my mom never trusted me to do nor to go anywhere, I don’t think that the low expectations of public privacy is turning parents into stalkers. I was a kid at one time and I know what I use to do. I know I was  not everywhere I told my mom I was going to be. The world is getting so out of hand with drugs, gangs, sex, etc., that I think it’s a good idea to check up on your children and to know what they are doing at times, not all times but most of the time. We as parents want our children to go down the right path. We don’t want our children to end up strung out on drugs, or in jail for the rest of there life. Now as an adult I wish my mom was just a little more harder on me than what she was only because I could have been a much better person that what I am. I don’t think all of the tools that we have to today to keep track of our children is need. But I do know prayer goes a long way . That’s how alot of most of us made it through, we had some praying grandmothers, and mothers. I think we as parents should always stay close to our children. By gaing our children trust and letting them know that we are here for them and that they can come to use for anything is a way of keeping taps on them. Yes it won’t work for all but it will work for some and be a start. I wish my mom did that with my brother, sisters, and me. As children we didn’t have anybody to talk to. Because we didn’t have anybody to talk to , my brother is in jail and my sisters well I just don’t know which way most of them are going. I believe we as parents now in my generation need to stay connected with our kids to show that we do care and no matter what we won’t give up on them.

TALKING BACK

I am always saying things that gets me  in trouble. I have been told that I am a very out spoken and blunt person.  Well I think that somethings need to be said to certian people to let them know that they can’t walk all over. I remember at the current job that I am at I got into a little problem with my boss. I believe that you have to give respect to receive respect. Don’t  get me wrong my boss is a caring man and he is very understanding when it comes to personal and family problems. But sometimes my boss will make you seem like your dumb when you ask him anything. My boss also sometimes  will talk to you like your his child  instead of his employee. Well one day I said enough was enough and I told him that I have had enough of him talking like I was his child.  I had tears falling from my eyes at the time. I always cry when I am pissed off. I also say things that I don’t mean. So I told my boss that I was crying becauae I was pissed and that he was being a  ass. Well I felt really small because I just knew I was going to lose my job. But I didn’t lose my job . He  told me that I need to losing up because I am always taking things to heart.

In the article “In Defense Of Memorization”, the author Michael K. Beran comes arcoss with a strong opinion on memorization. Beran states peotry should be  apart of a persons and child everyday life. In someways I agree and disagree. I do agree tha a good memory goes a long way. I also agree that poetry should be taught to the children in school, but only to a certian point. The school  should allow certian type of poetry that will educate and teach . I perssonally don’t know very much about peotry, but after reading this article I know that poetry can be anything as stated , from Cat In The Hat to Martin Luther King’s speech “I Had A Dream”. To me I thought of these not being peotry. As life goes on it has been thing that I can and can not remember from grade school. I guess I needed a little peotry in my younger days. We are now in a new generation, and because schooling is not what it use to be when I was coming up, it would not be a bad idea to teach the children poetry.
